Lili Marquette slowly climbed out of the car and walked into the graveyard. She didn't expect to see most of the Resistance members there, but she had expected Augur. Then she remembered what Parks had told her: Augur had to babysit Liam, but wished he could be there.

She spotted some of the Resistance people, friends of Boone's, standing rigidly and staring ahead, dressed in somber colors. As Lili stepped to the side of the grave and the coffin, she spotted three Taelons over by an oak tree, talking quietly. Da'an, looking miserable. Quo'on, looking fascinated by the funeral rites. Zo'or, looking bored to death. Lili couldn't help smirking at a brief moment of displeasure for Zo'or; he had always hated Boone.

When Da'an saw her, he said something unintellible to Quo'on and broke away. As he walked toward her, Lili saw his face clearly. He looked like he wanted to cry, but Lili was fully aware that he couldn't. For a moment, she pitied the Taelon's inability to express grief in that way.

She smiled waveringly at him. "Hi," she said quietly.

Da'an gave her an equally shaky smile, and stepped beside her. "I miss Boone, as you do," he said. He meant it.

Lili nodded a little. "I only wish... I could have helped him a little more."

"I only wish that I could reveal..." Da'an stopped abruptly. Lili looked sideways at him, narrowly. "What?" she asked in a low tone.

Da'an closed his eyes. "The truth about Boone's death," he replied softly. Then he looked up at Lili and seemed to shake himself mentally. "Forgive me, Captain." He turned away and began to walk back to Quo'on and Zo'or.

"Da'an," Lili said quietly. Da'an stopped and looked at her. "If you need... anyone to talk to, you can talk to me."

Da'an smiled a little at her, this time with genuine affection. Then he walked back to Zo'or and Quo'on, who were approaching the coffin as a man in a kilt played "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes. Sandoval was standing at the head of the grave, holding a wreath and staring at it intensely. Lili felt tears well up as she said farewell to Boone...
