Ha'gel felt a bit awkward kissing Lt. Beckett, but it was an excellent means of begining the Joining. He swept her up into himself, and slipped into her mind. He saw everything she was and knew that she was experiencing the totality of his life as well. His first human mate had been overwelmed by the rush of memories and experiences. Siobhan's CVI and what Ha'gel learned from his first experience prevented such an unfortunite reoccurence.

Simultaniously he encouraged Siobhan's DNA and Sandoval's to merge in the usual human fashion, then altered the child's DNA with a strand of his own to form a triple helix. It took some doing and prolonged the Joining, but it was necessary to ensure the child's easy blending into human society as well as shielding him from the Commonality.

Ha'gel now mentally informed Siobhan of the birth of their impending offspring. He hoped she would be cooperative, he felt bad enough Joining with her under false pretenses, but time was of the essense as Sandoval would say. The Kimera was surprised by the joy she felt at the revelation of the child, then remembered her longing for children and the knowledge that her career now made children a near impossible dream.

To insure Siobhan's survival, Ha'gel placed a small part of his conciousness within her mind to buffer her mind from the weight of three millenia's worth of Kimeran memories, not counting those of his parents.

Ha'gel whispered to Siobhan that the child was male and before he laid her on the floor of the church to collect himself and recover, he felt her name their son: Liam. It was her grandfather's name, but Sandoval's factual mind supplied that Liam meant unwavering protector. Ha'gel hoped the child would aid in protecting his mother's people from the fate of the Kimera.

Ha'gel debated what to do next, surely she and Sandoval would be missed by the Taelons soon? Then again, it might be assumed that he had done away with them. The Taelons had prior experiences with survivors of their past genocides coming back for vengence. With his ability to affect the Commonality and his shaquarava, they feared him more than most.
