Da'an stood at the top of his ramp, his normally-animated fingers frozen and curled inward. His bright blue eyes bored through the virtual glass, glowing in the early morning light.

Marquette had been caught and killed that morning. For some reason, it now seemed foreign to Da'an to call her "Lili" when he thought to himself, seemed wrong. Overly familiar. He hadn't, he thought icily, known her as well as he thought he had.

He had thought that she had changed. She had seemed more level, more inclined to understand Taelon interests. Had he misread her? Why... because he had wanted to?

Da'an's face hardened slightly. Had Lili Marquette chosen to trick him, or had he simply wanted to convince her of the long-term intentions of the Taelons? Had she seen it, and used him?

Da'an slowly began to walk down the ramp, his footsteps ringing hollow and faint in the empty building. His mind slowly went back, going over the things that Marquette had said, had done recently. Had Liam been in league with... no. Liam did not allow needless death, Da'an had seen that numerous times. He would not have allowed Marquette to destroy the mothership.

Or would he?

Liam had looked into Da'an's eyes, fearless and completely aware of his statement. "I am a human being. And I will never betray my species."

Well.... had Liam ordered Marquette to destroy the ship, and herself with it? Or had Marquette decided to do this on her own?

Da'an's fingers tightened on the bars surrounding the ramp, feeling himself cringe inward. Who could he trust completely? That trust had seeped somewhat, eroded when Liam was elected Resistance leader. And now, would these suspicions shatter that trust so completely?

Da'an shook his head slightly. He would not assume that Liam was guilty unless he had proof. There was no proof. No accusations. Just suspicions... nothing to go on.

But in whom should I trust?
