Liam Kincaid walked through the passages of the Embassy,
his heart burning inside him. His hands, come to think of it, were also burning,
from the radiant energy that he had caught and repelled just mere hours before.
He still wasn't sure what they were, but he did know what Sandoval had done.
He had tried to kill them both.
Liam took a deep breath and tried to clear his mind. He felt like three different voices inside his head were telling him things. Memories of the Taelons from three different perspectives.
Liam took a deep breath, shut his eyes, and called on the memories of Ha'gel from deep within in. For a brief moment, he saw flashes of light... weapons fire... a planet devastated within seconds... thousands of Kimera meeting their ends...
*For the good of the Taelons,* a soft voice countered. *They must survive.*
Liam stiffened as he recognized the voice. Was his mother really thinking that, even if she didn't have her CVI? No... he thought. The memories that he felt were tainted by her CVI's control. But what about Sandoval? Sandoval, who Liam knew had calmly killed William Boone's wife and institutionalized his own.
Sandoval had tried to kill him and Da'an. Had calmly given him a weapon that he knew would be a sputtering little piece of trash. Liam's lip curled a little as he thought of Sandoval betraying the Taelon he had "faithfully" served for the past three years. What had caused him to jump ship?
Liam rubbed his slightly tingly hands and swore an oath. He would protect Da'an, no matter what. *Sandoval may be my father, as much as I may hate it,* he thought, *but I will not let him do anything to Da'an.*
